An Associate of Arts (AA) in Elementary Education is a great major for those who have a desire to work with children as a career.

While completing an AA major in Elementary Education, students will complete their general study courses as well as learn the theories and practices that will serve them for a lifetime of serving children and community. An AA degree will provide the student with the skills necessary to learn to control children, nurture children in an atmosphere of learning and stability, and understand the many learning stages that children go through.
Most programs are designed for students who wish to continue to a four-year program where they will complete their certification. However, for students who wish to begin working with children more immediately, an AA in Elementary Education qualifies them to begin work as an elementary education assistant. However a Bachelor in Education is necessary for those who desire to teach in both the private and public education sectors.

Completing an AA in Elementary Education will place the student on the path to a lifetime of community service and involvement through the nurturing of its young children’s minds. With an AA the student will be qualified to work full-time as an aid to an elementary teacher. However, the majority of Elementary Education students continue their schooling as it takes a Bachelor (BA) to be recognized by the state as a certified elementary teacher. An AA serves as a natural transition for the students whose desire is to continue in their BA.
