An Associate of Arts (AA) in Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism prepares students to enter many facets of the food and hospitality industry.

Along with obtaining basic prerequisites that will transition into a Bachelor degree program in a similar field, students can expect to learn the basic concepts that will allow them to become an effective manager of travel centers, restaurants, and hotels.
The hospitality and tourism field is considered to be among the most glamorous fields to enter for postgraduates. However, it can also be long hours and extremely difficult work. During the program, students will sharpen their communication and interpersonal relations skills along with learning effective managerial, sales and marketing skills. Students will learn how to coordinate with a variety of players in the field including, airlines, hotels, caterers, and travel agents.

An AA in Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism qualifies one to continue in a Bachelor degree program in a related field as well as begin immediate work in the industry. Unlike many other AA degree programs, an AA in the hospitality industry opens up many opportunities in the field. Generally an AA in the industry along with sufficient experience will allow a graduate to work as high as an assistant manager in some restaurants and hotels. Upon graduation students can expect to have very strong communication and customer service skills, as well as finely tuned marketing and sales abilities.
