A Doctor of Health Administration offers training for those wishing to achieve the highest levels of healthcare management. Specific coursework includes study of human resource management, risk management, healthcare policies and regulations, and the evaluation of certain healthcare programs. You will learn the most effective and proven methods of administration within the healthcare setting, but will also conduct research of your own. The goal will be to improve your ability to design new models of efficiency for the healthcare system and how best to implement such models. Analytical, critical, and creative thinking will be involved as you look to problem-solve on a large-scale basis. Your communication, teamwork, and leadership skills will also receive considerable attention, as will your ability to plan and implement change. Added sensitivity to ethics and values will be cultivated as well.

By completion of the coursework you will possess a greater understanding of what is involved in leadership at the highest levels of even the most complex healthcare institutions. You will be better able to work with employees and other professionals to analyze such institutions, propose improvements, and work toward implementing those improvements smoothly, efficiently, and effectively.
